Level One

In the first level, the six contestants were shown five (originally six) visual puzzles and had 10 seconds to answer each one by locking in an answer with their keypads. Each correct answer earned each player points. The first five questions increased in value by 10 points, for they were worth 10, 20, 30, (40 in earlier episodes) & 50 points respectively. The fifth/sixth & final puzzle was worth 100 points. All for a grand total of up to 210 (originally 250) points. The two players with the lowest scores were eliminated from the game. Ties were broken by the average of how fast they answered. The four contestants with the highest scores were moving on to the next level.

Trivia

• Episode 223 (Co-host Tom Kenny) is the first and only time all four Level 2 contestants gets every question correct and won a perfect score in Level 1. In that episode, Ema, Nick, Garrett and Jameson all payed attention to all the puzzles and got their answers right.
• There are a total of 58 contestants that got perfect scores in Level 1.
• In early Season 1, Jeff explains the brainiacs the rules before heading over to the Brain Center. But as of Episode 113 and onwards, he now does that while he's in there.
• Episode 335 is the only episode where everyone gets three puzzles right.
